What is the A1 form?
The A1 form is a document issued by the competent authorities of a European Union or European Economic Area member state that confirms insured status under a given social security system. In short: with the A1 form you prove that your employees (in your case, the drivers) are insured under the Romanian social security system.
The main purpose of the A1 form is to prevent double insurance and to ensure that people who travel temporarily to another member state or within the European Economic Area are covered by the social security system of the member state in which they are normally insured,
In the event of an accident, both you and your family members will be insured for up to 2 years (regardless of whether you were posted by your employer or posted yourself as a self-employed worker).
What can happen without an A1 form?
A CargoTrack customer who held an A1 form obtained through us went through an extremely serious situation during a trip in a European Union country.
One of the drivers was involved in a serious accident.
While driving, he lost control of the truck, hit the guardrail, and the vehicle caught fire.
The driver managed to get out of the cab in time, but suffered burns and needed hospitalization.
