What is remote temperature monitoring?

In the transport sector, maintaining the optimal temperature is a major issue, both for public health and for economic reasons.

Transporting temperature-sensitive goods is subject to numerous standards and regulations (for example, the EN12830 and EN13486 standards), pushing industry players to equip themselves with innovative connected telematics solutions. Indeed, failing to maintain the optimal temperature can have serious consequences, so it must be controlled precisely and very regularly.

To meet this challenge and enable hauliers to secure the goods they are responsible for, CargoTrack developed these Bluetooth temperature sensors to give fleet managers the confidence of remote temperature monitoring.

How does remote temperature monitoring work?

The temperature sensors can be mounted in various places: in a refrigerated trailer, in an insulated transport box or even in a refrigerated cabinet.

Being 100% autonomous, the sensors measure and record the temperature at regular (configurable) intervals.

The history is transmitted by the Bluetooth sensor to the GPS tracking device, which then sends all the information to the CargoTrack monitoring app.

Users can view the temperature variation history anytime, anywhere, as charts and reports in the CargoTrack app on mobile or desktop/laptop.

Users can also set alert thresholds in the app. In this case, when the temperature exceeds the predefined threshold, an e-mail and/or SMS alert is sent in real time to the driver and/or fleet manager.
