In short: CargoTrack has completed ten years in business as a Romanian developer of GPS tracking and digitalization solutions for transport fleets. In the anniversary interview, Răzvan Perțicaș, CEO and architect of the product suite, explains that the first decade was built on investing in the team and on an internal code of ethics based on trust, good faith and accountability. The stated direction for the years ahead is the complete digitalization of Romanian hauliers’ operational workflows and expansion into the international market.
Courage, experiments, research, achievements, and sometimes failures that shaped us and helped us mature. We always started over and grew alongside you, our partners. We look back on the 10 years since CargoTrack was founded. At “point zero,” we never imagined how challenging and exciting this journey would turn out to be.
It wasn’t always easy, but we managed to overcome the obstacles and build a “smart & cool” crew. We share the same values and keep building great, innovative solutions together with our partners. To mark the company’s anniversary, we had a short chat with Răzvan Perțicaș, CEO and architect of the CargoTrack product suite.

How would you describe CargoTrack’s first decade?
Răzvan Perțicaș: “It’s been 10 intense years that went by extremely fast. We invested a lot in the team we built, and I tried to make sure we all embraced the same set of values, unanimously.
Why do we do what we do?
Why does what we do matter?
These are questions that may seem simple at first glance, but the answers are often hard to find. The answer comes with professional maturity and dedication to our work.
I know – and I’m glad – that we’ve reached the point where we know why we do what we do. Things evolved naturally, out of a desire never to let any of our partners down. In our field, challenges arise constantly, and I can say we’ve grown alongside our partners. We learned their needs, we learned from them, and together with them we learned what the main needs of the transport sector are.
Moreover, I can say that from the very beginning there has been a “code of ethics” that no one has strayed from over this decade: trust, good faith, accountability. It’s an unwritten law that has kept us all united and, at the same time, made us accountable.”

What have been the company’s biggest challenges over this time?
Răzvan Perțicaș: “Building a team of professionals comes with a series of costs: financial, time and energy. It’s a headache not many people are willing to take on. We took it on gladly, because we knew the CargoTrack “story” needed value – very good people who master the field. Time has shown that the investment paid off and that we’ve reached the level we aimed for from day one.
Another challenge is the ability to set priorities very clearly. You have to know when to say “no,” you have to know when to turn things down. It’s a difficult but necessary process. Otherwise, you can fall into a trap that is extremely dangerous and costly for both the company and its customers.
In addition, like any outsourcing company, there are a number of risks we took on in the process of “building” the products we offer. I think what kept us determined was a constant desire to learn new things, the boldness to experiment, to sometimes make mistakes and to get back on our feet very quickly.”
What do you want CargoTrack to become?
Răzvan Perțicaș: “We have many big plans. We’ll reveal them along the way, and I’m sure they all point toward fully digitalizing the operational workflows of Romanian hauliers.
Given that over these ten years we’ve mostly worked for the domestic transport market, we obviously want, over time, to turn our attention to the international market as well.
CargoTrack delivers efficiency and traceability, and I’m sure it can help fleet managers and people working in transport move away from the traditional way of working based on ring binders or Excel files. We live in an age of innovation, so workflows can only be clarified and organized by digitalizing processes. In short, I want the solution we’ve built to become hauliers’ main “work tool.””

Why should what we do at CargoTrack matter to the transport industry?
Răzvan Perțicaș: “CargoTrack isn’t a “cure-all” for hauliers; it’s simply a key ingredient on their path to success.
But we knew from the start that, through continuous expertise, we could deliver a solution that challenges existing industry practices and takes them to the next level.
The CargoTrack product suite is efficient for fleet managers and effective for employees. We streamline workflows and solve the problems hauliers have faced until now.
We believe in success without the glitter! Success means customer satisfaction, courage, experimentation and continuous work. These are what set the good apart from the very good!”
Here’s to many more productive years, CargoTrack!
