RFID reader
About the RFID reader
The RFID reader is a card reader designed specifically for driver identification. The security cards your company already uses can also be used to authenticate drivers in vehicles.
How does an RFID reader work?
The RFID reader shows you who used the vehicle and when. It can also immobilize the vehicle’s engine and alert the driver with a light or sound signal when authentication fails.
RFID methods use radio waves to do this. At a basic level, RFID systems consist of three components: an RFID / smart tag, an RFID reader, and an antenna. RFID tags contain an integrated circuit and an antenna, which are used to transmit data to the RFID reader (also called an interrogator).
The reader then converts the radio waves into a more usable form of data. The information collected from the tags is then transferred through a communications interface to the CargoTrack platform, where it is stored in a database and analyzed.
